We are looking for a Ride Maintenance Assistant Manager to help keep our park's rides and attractions safe and operational. In this position, you will collaborate closely with the Maintenance Manager to manage the maintenance team, arrange repairs, and schedule inspections for rides, park vehicles, equipment, and buildings—all while ensuring that everything satisfies safety standards. You'll also assist the engineering staff during shifts, with a focus on keeping rides available and safe for customers. Strong leadership and planning abilities are required, as you will be in charge of arranging and managing the team's daily responsibilities to ensure the park runs smoothly!
Oversee both planned and unplanned maintenance to keep rides safe and operational.
Lead a team of engineers to carry out preventative maintenance and safety checks.
Work hands-on to complete routine maintenance and ride start-up procedures.
Manage the team during park hours to quickly fix ride breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime.
Make sure all maintenance records are completed and kept up to date.
Help the engineering management team maximize ride availability and safety.
Assign and monitor maintenance tasks during daily operations and off-season overhauls.
Plan the annual ride servicing schedule to obtain necessary safety approvals before reopening.
Work with external safety organizations to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections in line with company policies.
Organize work schedules for the team to ensure enough staff is available when needed.
Develop strategies to improve maintenance efficiency and solve recurring technical issues.
Represent the engineering department in internal park meetings.
Keep communication clear between different shifts.
Manage and forecast spare parts and equipment needs.
Create and update departmental policies to match current operational needs.
Train and mentor team members to enhance their technical skills.
Conduct risk assessments and ensure safety standards are met.
Provide leadership and guidance to supervisors and technicians.
Assign tasks based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and operational priorities.
Assist with complex technical issues and train staff on advanced troubleshooting.
Respond to emails and requests from other departments.
Perform additional duties as needed by management.
City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering.
Supervisory or management experience is a plus.
Knowledge of ride safety regulations (HSG 175, EN 13814, DAC).
Understanding of statutory engineering requirements (lifting equipment, pressure vessels, COSHH, etc.).
Ability to read blueprints and control drawings.
Comfortable working in various weather conditions, heights, and confined spaces.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to handle pressure and meet tight deadlines.
