Responsible for:
Manage the prioritization of work and delivery to plan through a multi-disciplinary team.
Drive improvements in HSEQ areas such as Safety Tours, operational investigations, to ensure work locations are fit for purpose and compliant with relevant standards and safe methods of work (SMOW).
Drive a culture of continuous improvement by implementing robust governance systems. Drive continuous improvement innovations.
Responsible for the accurate recording of activity in accordance with company, customer and industry standards.
Through a team maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment.
Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted efficiently, adhering to schedules and minimizing downtime.
Develop and enforce standard operating procedure (SOPs) to maintain high-quality service and compliance with safety regulations.
Optimize resource utilization, including manpower, tools, and spare parts, to achieve cost-effective operations.
Keep electronic archive of all repairs and services.
To be on call and provide on-site leadership in the event of an incident.
Capable of reading mechanical drawings with a good understanding of mechanical control systems.
Direct routine maintenance and minor repairs including fault finding.
Produce process and procedural documents relating to the safe delivery of work site activities within a railway environment.
Check that safety, assurance, compliance, performance and business processes are followed.
Develop and agree annual maintenance, inspection and testing programs and resource levels.
Manage staff competence assessment and audit compliance at the depot site. Facilitate and lead internal, external and customer audits.
Undertake and complete annual Performance Development Reviews with direct reports, in a timely manner. Through structured 1 to 1’s, facilitate a regular review of progress against objectives and a formal performance appraisal for Foremen and Team Leaders, which will include an assessment of training needs and personal development.
Investigate or review, as directed, failures of assets, including cross discipline and cross functional compatibility.
Lead where applicable engineering verification activities.
To manage a multi-disciplinary team providing technical specialist leadership and support for maintenance and operations, production of specification and design and construction of Mechanical, Electrical systems.
Develop and agree certain maintenance optimization strategies for the fleet.
Ensure all provision of materials and major overhauls are properly planned for.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Experience:
A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
Substantial relevant experience of Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
Engineering management experience involving technical and business risk assessment.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, industry and company standards.
